Creating your NO EXCUSES Self-Care Routine

We all know that self-care is essential in keeping your mind, body and soul healthy.  And yet many of us don’t do it regularly.  We use time, money, commitments, family and energy as excuses for leaving ourselves off of our ‘to-do’ list.  But when I finally decided to make myself a priority by committing to a self-care routine, everything else on my list aligned itself to get done.  In caring for myself I release my stress and feel my worth.  This in turn frees me up for tackling my day.

The most exciting thing I learned from the decision to create my own self-care routine is that it doesn’t have to be expensive or time consuming.  Here’s what mine looks like:

Before bedtime: I remove my makeup with Chamomile/Lavender wipes, then I will wash my face with step 1, Chamomile Cleanser. Then I will use step 4, Rosewater Toner…I like to spray 3 or 4 pumps.  Once the toner has fully dried I then apply step 5, Rose Serum. Finally I will use step 6, Coffee Infused Serum roller under my eyes.

In the morning: I wash my face with step 1, Chamomile Cleanser. Then I will use step 4, Rosewater Toner…I like to spray 3 or 4 pumps.  Once the toner has fully dried I then apply step 5, Rose Serum. Once the serum has seeped in I will use an SPF. At this point I can go on with my day, or I apply my makeup and pretend I have my life in order.

None of these rituals take over 5 minutes, but after a while, I found myself feeling proud that I had stuck to something that was good for me.  I became motivated to create more NO EXCUSES routines.  Little by little, I started to eat better and take walks with the kids.  Then I started going to the gym, and attending business seminars.  What positive changes could your daily self-care routine bring to your life?
